Joanne B. Witzenburg, 70, passed away on May 7, 2001. She was born November 15, 1930 to Adolph and Georgia Herduin in Knoxville, Iowa.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 51 years, Marion Witzenburg of Albuquerque; her daughter, Karen Thompson and husband, Tom of Albuquerque; two grandchildren, Tiffany and Taylor of Albuquerque; her sister, Alice Shepherd of Hot Springs, AR; and her brother, Robert Herduin of Spring Hill, KS. Joanne worked as a dental assistant, loved to play golf, bridge, and travel.
She volunteered many years for Proctor Hospital Service League in Peoria, IL where she enjoyed making floral arrangements and other crafts for sale in the gift shop. Joanne had been living for the past eleven months at the Cottages of Albuquerque that provides specialized care for those with Alzheimers.
Cremation has taken place and a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Friday, May 11 at Church of the Risen Savior, 7701 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109. Burial will be at a later date at Pella, IA.
