Alberta Belle (Kendrick) Hall was born on July 2, 1923, in Marion County to Delmar Kendrick and Blanche (Pearson) Kendrick. She was raised in the Knoxville area and graduated from Knoxville High School.

On Jan. 23, 1942, she married Glenn "Jack" Hall in Milan, Mo. The couple farmed in Knoxville for many years before moving to town in 1969. Alberta was a stay at home mother and a full-time farm wife until she and Jack moved into Knoxville.

She then went to work for Griffin Nursing Center where she worked as an aid, in the laundry, the kitchen and did sewing. She retired in 2000. Throughout the years she served as a 4-H leader and was very active in the Columbia United Methodist Church and Christ's Church.

She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Alberta passed away on Jan. 7, 2007, at the Griffin Nursing Center at the age 83.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Richard and her brother, Jim Kendrick.

Those left to honor her memory include her son, Ronald "Angie" Hall of Knoxville and two daughters, Beverly "Greg" Sanderson of Knoxville and Becky Smith of Des Moines; her brother, Donald Kendrick of Knoxville; sister, Carmen Ohnemus of Newton, 12 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends.

Funeral services were held on Jan. 10 at Bybee and Davis Funeral Home with Swann Juline officiating.

Interment was in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the National Parkinson Foundation.
