Thomas Ray Wilson, age 75, of rural Knoxville, Iowa, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at his residence.

Tom was born December 28, 1943 in Knoxville, Iowa. He was the son of Samuel and Lucinda (Beem) Wilson. Tom was raised in Knoxville and attended Knoxville High School. He joined the United States Air Force in 1961 and proudly served until being honorably discharged due to medical reasons.

Tom was united in marriage to Brenda Kindley on June 3, 1965 in Unionville, Missouri. They were blessed with two sons, Wayde and Kelly.

Tom and Brenda were the owners of Wilson’s Heating & Air for 45 years. Tom was then employed at the Marion County Sheriff’s Office as a correctional officer and retired in December, 2008.

Tom and Brenda enjoyed going on road trips, dancing in their younger days, and working in the garden. Tom loved spoiling the grandkids with ice cream, sweet treats, and trips to Mr. C’s for pancakes. He was a family man and will be greatly missed.

Tom’s wishes were to be cremated. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville.

Those left to cherish Tom’s memory include his loving wife of 54 years, Brenda Wilson; sons, Wayde (Barb) Wilson and Kelly (Jennifer) Wilson; grandchildren, Sydney (BJ) Wells, Hannah Wilson (Cody Korthaus), Sarah Wilson (Cameron Brown), Kristina Wilson, Madalyn Wilson, Bailey Golubosky, and Josh Kincaid; five great-grandchildren, Riley, Ollie, Emma, Ruger, and Porter; also many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Tom is preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Lucinda Wilson; sister, Dixie Birkenholz; brother, Tim Wilson; and daughter-in-law, Kelli Renee Wilson.
