Graveside funeral services for Ruth Ailene (Peterson) Schrader, 85, of Newton, were held May 16,
2008, at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville.

Pence-Reese Funeral Home in Newton has
been entrusted with funeral arrangements. Ruth, the daughter of Roy L. and Rachel
Ann (Kenworthy) Peterson, was born Nov. 25, 1922, in Knoxville.

She was a graduate
of the Knoxville Senior High School, Class of 1940. Ruth was a homemaker and was
employed by Bellamy Telephone in Knoxville and United Telephone Company in Newton,
as a phone operator.

Ruth had devoted her life to her family and was a member of
the local V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, where she was past president. Ruth enjoyed spending
time with her family, her cat Sarah, her flower gardens, quilts, and playing bingo.

Ruth died on May 11, 2008, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother in infancy.

Those left to honor Ruth's memory
include her daughters; Judy (David) Robinson of Newton and Dawnetta (Don) Pitt of
Marshalltown; a son Charles Swayne of Albuquerque, N.M.; her four grandchildren:
Kellie (Robinson) Evers, David Michael Robinson, Renee (Pitt) Sporeleder, and Terri
(Pitt) Murray; eight great-grandchildren: Job, Susanne, Dallas, Marisa, Nathan,
Kaitlyn, Tayler, and Blake; a great-great-granddaughter Heidi Jo; and her many good
neighbors and friends.
