Sharon Kay Weldon was born January 21, 1946 in Knoxville, Iowa the daughter of Charlie and Marie (Diekema) Kingrey.

Sharon was raised in Knoxville and on December 22, 1962 she was united in marriage to Gary Ron Weldon. Aside from living in Des Moines a few years, the couple made their home in Knoxville. Through the years, Sharon had worked at CDS, 10X, Wells Fargo and Griffin Nursing Home.

Sharon and Ron had 40 wonderful years of marriage. She enjoyed music, dancing and would usually be found at the Soda Pop Saloon on Saturdays.

Sharon cherished her family and friends and they made many great memories throughout her life.

Sharon passed away Thursday, March 19, 2026 at Trinity Regional Medical Center, in Ft. Dodge, Iowa, at the age of 80 years.

In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Ron; siblings: Marcella Kain, Charlene Hulgan, Mina Roberts, Leo Kingrey and Jack Kingrey and son-in-law, Garry Lester.

Those left to mourn Sharon’s passing include her children: LaDonna Weldon-Lester, Ricky Weldon, Ron Weldon, Ronda Renteria, Robin (Rick) Wright, Roanna (Brad) Weldon-Oswalt and Randy (Kim) Weldon; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; siblings: Alvin Kingrey and Clinna Rae Culbertson; dear friends: Janet, Cindy and Julie and many other family members and friends.

Sharon has been cremated. Interment will be at Zion Cemetery in Pershing at a later date. A celebration of Sharon’s life will be announced at a later date.
