Charlotte Lynette Davidson passed peacefully on Sunday, February 15, 2026 in Indianola. A Graveside service will be held at a later date in the Carlisle Cemetery, Carlisle, IA.
Charlotte Lynette Sterling Davidson was born July 26, 1942 in Oskaloosa, IA. The first born to Pauline (Rickett) Sterling and Garl Vance Sterling Sr. She attended elementary school in Pleasantville and High School in Knoxville graduating with the class of 1960. As a small child she participated in talent shows on the radio singing country songs accompanied by her father on the guitar.
In October 1963, Charlotte married Bill Ludington in Hollywood, Florida. They later divorced and Charlotte and Chris moved ahead doing the best they could until Charlotte met and married Jim Davidson in April of 1986 in Grand Junction, Colorado. They lived a wonderful life until Jim passed unexpectedly in December of 1995. Charlotte worked many different office jobs starting with Iowa Power and Light company out of High School and retiring from Cargill.
Charlotte is survived by her siblings, Ron (Mary) Sterling, Cheryl (Dan George) Sterling Scott; sister-in-law, Adele Sterling; grandson, Parker Cataldo; step-children, Mark Davidson, Brett Davidson, Melissa Reid and Cherisse Davidson; step-granddaughter, Shayla Davidson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Davidson; son, Chris Ludington; parents, Vance and Pauline Sterling; brother, Garl Sterling; step-son, Matt Davidson; and step-granddaughter, Hailey Reid.
