Robert Ellis Johnson, age 82, passed away November 15, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born on December 14, 1941, the son of Perry Louis and Ellen (Snow) Johnson in Knoxville, Iowa.
He graduated from High School. Upon graduation, he entered the United States Army and was stationed in Germany during the construction of the Berlin Wall and the Cuban Crisis.
During his enlistment, Robert married his beloved wife Donna Jean McDonald on December 12, 1960 in Princeton, Missouri. He attended St. Clair College, where he received an associate degree in business administration.
He started his work career at Ford Motor Tractor Plant in Iowa and was transferred to the Romeo Tractor Plant. Once the Romeo Plant closed, he finished out his work career at the Wixom Plant after, 28 years.
Robert was an airplane enthusiast and enjoyed hunting deer and squirrels. He was also into classic cars and had a Studabaker Lark 4.
He is survived by his beloved daughter Teresa (Christopher)Minor of Romeo, loving grandchildren Christopher Robert Minor, Nicole Brenna Hejl; beloved great grandchildren Skyler McKinney, Jack Tabor, Damien Tabor, and Alyvia Hejl.
Also surviving his brother Joseph Johnson of Knoxville, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Donna Jean, his parents and his brother Perry Johnson, Jr.
