Pat Crews04/04/2018
Patricia “Pat” Lucille (Crews) Frey was born on October 14, 1939 to Paul and Vesta (Myers) Crews in Mount Ayr, Iowa.

Pat became the older sister of Cathie and Ron.

She attended Knoxville Community Schools and graduated from Knoxville Senior High with the class of 1957.

Pat went on to attend college at AIB, graduating with a business degree. On November 5, 1965, Pat married the love of her life, Donald Pason Frey. Their family was made complete when their son, Donald Paul Frey was born on August 28, 1970.

Pat worked for 10 years at the Marion County Courthouse in the treasurer’s office. However, her true passion was her role of being a mom to Donnie and an in-home daycare provider for more than 40 children over 20 years.

For several years while Don coached Little League & Babe Ruth baseball teams, Pat ran the concession stand. She enjoyed watching Donnie play baseball and especially enjoyed watching Don and Donnie work together to prepare their Herford Heifers for showing at the county fair.

Later in life, she and Don managed the beer stand at the Knoxville Raceway for 20 years and then managed the north campgrounds for 3 years. They made many life-long friends at the track and campgrounds who became more like family.

Part of Pat’s heart went to heaven on January 11, 2017, when her soulmate, Don passed away. They were reunited forever in God’s holy presence on April 3, 2018, when Pat joined Don in heaven.

In addition to Don, Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Vesta Crews, Don’s parents Harold and Mary Bell Frey, brothers in law Vic Carter and Bill Baker, a nephew, Marc Carter, and great-niece, Cassidy Adreon.

Visitation for Pat will be held from 9:00 A.M. to 10:30 A.M., with a memorial service to follow on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at the Winfield Funeral Home in Knoxville, with Pastor Brent Hanna officiating.
