Mikki Lea Followill was born September 21, 1978 in Knoxville, Iowa the daughter of Daniel Ray Followill and Mary Kay Bassett.

She was raised in Knoxville and lived in the area her entire life. Mikki was a mother and homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, fishing and her pets. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her nieces and nephews and she cherished the time them and her family.

Mikki passed away on Monday, July 6, 2015 at the Mercy Medical Center, in Des Moines, at the age of 36 years.

She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Derek Long and grandfather, Francis Marion Kennedy, and Aunts Phyllis Williams and Pam Followill.

Those left to cherish Mikki’s memory include her mother, Mary Kay Kennedy of Knoxville; children: Robert, Jordan, Jenna and Jersey Orr of Texas; siblings: Gary Hegwood, Jr. (Stephanie) of Kyle, Texas, Casey Hegwood (Nancy) of Oskaloosa, D.R. Hegwood (Michell) of Knoxville, Michael Kennedy (Jen) of Knoxville and Gini Long (Jason Baxter) of Harvey; her companion, Chris Brees of Knoxville and many nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
