Janell was born on June 9, 1960 in Knoxville, Iowa to Leroy Jorgen Jensen and Joyce Marlene Hansen of Audubon, Iowa.

She attended Knoxville High School and Grandview College.

As a true caregiver at heart, Janell worked as an RN nurse at various hospitals and senior care facilities across Iowa.

Janell cherished her membership with St. John’s Lutheran Church downtown Des Moines, and as the proudest of Danes, she was committed to both the Danish Brotherhood and the Danish Immigrant Museum in Elk Horn, Iowa.

Survivors include her son and daughter, Jorgen & Gretta Jensen of Denver, Colorado; and her brother, Phillip Jensen and his wife, Tina of Johnston, Iowa and their three sons, Austin, Adam and Andrew.

Janell was preceded in death by her parents. Leroy Jorgen Jensen and Joyce Marlene Hansen.

Everyone that knew Janell knew her to be a very bright spirit. She loved everyone who crossed her path, and especially connected with young children and seniors.

She had genuine interest in those she met, and you would know it by her game of “Twenty Questions”.

She consistently exemplified compassion and kindness toward others, especially those who were not as fortunate and who could use the extra consideration and love the most.

She will be dearly missed by countless individuals, whose lives she’s affected along her journey. Deep Faith, Love and Laughter reigned above all else in life for Janell.
