Graveside services for Mildred Ellen (Gregory) Dooley, 91, of Knoxville, who died Tuesday, February 19, 2002 at Griffin Nursing Center in Knoxville, were held Saturday, February 23, at Graceland Cemetery. Rev. Kathy Sides officiated at the services.

Mildred was born on June 26, 1910, in Marion County. She was the daughter of Flora Roxie Coffman and John Fredrich Gregory. She spent her entire life in the Knoxville area.

She married Howard Dooley on July 13, 1932, in Knoxville to this union one daughter was born.

Mildred taught at several different country schools in the Knoxville area. She liked to travel and participate in arts and crafts projects. She and Howard spent the winter months in Melbourne, Fla., for over 20 years. They were members of the Air Stream Trailer Club and the First United Methodist Church where she was a member
of the Women Circles.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Howard.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Burl Horstmann of Canon, Ga.; and two grandchildren, Andrea Horstmann of Davison, N.C., and Michael Horstmann of Canon, Ga.

Memorials may be given in her name to the Alzheimers Association.
