Robert Vernon Crozier, age 93, of Knoxville, Iowa, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2019 at The Cottages in Pella.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at the Winfield Funeral Home in Knoxville. Visitation will start at 9:00 A.M., until time of service. Burial services will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Knoxville.
Robert was born in Des Moines, Iowa, on January 25, 1926, the son of Raymond E. Crozier and Maude E. (Crowder) Crozier. Robert had one sister, Marilyn Patricia Edwards.
He graduated Knoxville High School with the Class of 19
Robert was united in marriage to Betty Ann Boden b. feb 28, 1931, Although they later divorced in 1970, they remained very good friends until her death February 24, 2010.
Robert was a farmer his entire life and loved the land and the livestock he raised and cared for. Robert was very conservative by nature, but he liked modern machinery and took very good care of his livestock, his machinery, and his land until his health declined.
Robert was a Knoxville Township Trustee for more than thirty years. He took a special interest in caring for cemeteries as a township trustee.
Robert joined the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at the age of eight. He was an active and faithful member throughout most of his life. He later was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ, Des Moines Restoration branch.
Robert was a skilled checker player, having won numerous state championships. He was a longtime member of the Pella REC Coop, and an avid coffee drinker. He enjoyed stopping by to visit the employees at Pella REC Coop, the local banks, Farm Bureau, and Marion Co. Produce.
Robert is survived by his nephew, David Edwards; and by nieces, Lynn Edwards and Lauren Edwards; several cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Marilyn Edwards.
