Reverend, Harold E. Blythe, 71, died unexpectedly Thursday, December 12, 2002 at his home in Salinas, CA.
He was born on June 29, 1931 and was a native of Cincinnati, Iowa.

He lived in Santa Rosa for ten years during which time he was principal of Kawana School and Superintendent of Bellevue School District.
An educator for more than 36 years, he was the Superintendent of Santa Rita Union School District, and retired in Salinas in 1997.

Throughout his life, he was actively serving the Lord as a teacher, youth leader, Christian education director and pastor.
He enjoyed missions trips, gardening, reading and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Military service; U.S. Air Force. He was appointed to West Point while living in Virginia.

He also served as Christian Education Director, associate pastor and pastor with the Assemblies of God.
He enjoyed mission trips, gardening and spending time with his family.

Survived by his beloved wife, Donna, of 50 years; his daughters Rhonda (David) Royer of Monterey, Athena (Don) Sewell of Texas and Melissa (Alan) Spencer of Santa Rosa; two sisters; Virginia VanGorp of Pella, Iowa, and Elaine Houseal of Fountain Hills, Ariz.; four grandsons and four granddaughters and eight grandchildren.
