Irvin Lee Birkenholz was born October 26, 1936, in Knoxville, Iowa the son of George and Sylvia (Briggs) Birkenholz (b.2016-d.1-18-2013).
As a young man, Irvin worked in a feed operation. On March 2, 1957, he was united in marriage to Gay Morton. The couple lived in Red Rock and later in Knoxville. Irvin was a welder and fabricator for most of his life. He worked for Parsons and later had his own shop in Lovilia. In his spare time, Irvin was an h.a.m. radio operator, collected coins, and enjoyed playing bingo.
Irvin passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2013, at the Corydon Nursing & Rehab Center at the age of 76 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his son, Russell of Chariton; 7 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren 1 great-great-grandchild, and many other family members and friends.
