Amanda Lucille Weihs, 43, passed away on May 26, 2023, at her home in Knoxville, Iowa. A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Knoxville at 11:00 am. A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 am prior to the service.

Mandy was born on June 15, 1979, in Knoxville, Iowa to Douglas and Sheri (Wares) Weihs.

She graduated from Knoxville High School followed by DMACC in 2010 where she received her nursing degree. Mandy proudly worked as a registered nurse at Pine Acres Nursing and Rehab. Her kind and gentle nature made her a perfect person to care for those in need.

Mandy knew that laughter is the best medicine, and always did her best to make the residents laugh whenever there was an opportunity. In her free time, Mandy enjoyed fishing and also loved her cats. Even though she loved the outdoors, she always wanted to look her best. Having her hair and makeup just right was always a priority.

Above all else, Mandy loved her family. She put her whole heart and soul into raising her children. Mandy was always there for them and never missed an event. She will be deeply missed by so many who loved her dearly.

Mandy is survived by her mother, Sheri (Steve) Hlad; her fiancé, Dustin Clark; children, Ashley DeGoey, Faith DeGoey, Dexter DeGoey, Samantha (Brandon) Hawkins, Kacie Clark, and Logan Clark; siblings, Connie (Eric) Grinstead, Christopher Cox, Cynthia (Josh) Youngblut, Shawn Weihs, and Emily Weihs; and many nieces, nephew, aunts, and uncles.

Mandy was preceded in death by her father, Douglas Weihs; and her daughter, Amy DeGoey.

Mandy’s family kindly requests that any memorials be given to a local animal shelter to honor her love of animals.
