Johnny Colton Haning, age 83 of Knoxville, passed away on Monday, Mar 27, 2023, at his home.
John was born January 29, 1940, at home in Red Rock, Iowa, the son of George and Bessie (Gibbons) Haning.

From second to eighth grade, he attended Brownlee country school and graduated from Knoxville High School in 1958.

The next fall he attended US Trade School in Kansas City, Missouri, and studied auto body and fender repair.

Before leaving for Kansas City, John was married to Pat Dykstra on September 7, 1958, a marriage of 64 years.

Through this union, they were blessed with four children: Randal (Sharon) Haning, Deborah Haning, Anthony (Debra) Haning, and Elizabeth (Gary) Hadler.

He is also survived by nine grandchildren, four with spouses, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Loretta Henry, and brothers: Gene, Robert, and Arl.

John will be remembered as caring, loving, fun-loving, and particular. He was a helpful neighbor and Mr. Fixit at the Almost Free Shop. He enjoyed restoring old cars.

Following the service, everyone is invited to a luncheon in the West Fellowship Hall.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church.
