James Clyde Morgan was born July 17, 1942, in Oskaloosa, Iowa the son of Paul and Grace (Hart) Morgan.
He was raised in Knoxville and graduated with the Knoxville High School Class of 1960. Jim then served in the United States Air Force until his honorable discharge in 1964. After the service, Jim worked at Armstrong Tire and made his home in Des Moines.
He retired after 35 years of service as a supervisor and x-ray tech. Following his retirement, he shuttled railroad crews to keep himself busy.
In his spare time, Jim enjoyed fishing, bow hunting, and trips to the Ozarks. He was the Treasurer of Integrity Lodge in Bussey, Iowa, and was previously very active in the Marion County and Za-Ga-Zig Shrine.
Jim passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021, at, Mercy One in Des Moines, at the age of 79 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grace and Paul Morgan.
Those left to mourn Jim’s passing include his daughters: Teri (Matt) Williams and Kohlyne (Dustin) Herwehe; grandchildren: Joshua (Mollie) Russell, Rachel (Ben) Schulz, Sarah (Kevin) Tadych, Jacob Russell, Grace Williams, and Emmalee Williams; Sam (Hunter) Lorton, Aly (Nathan Marshall) Lorton, Connor (Crystal Lincoln) Herwehe and Shae (Kaitlin Nichols) Herwehe; 14 great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends.
