Yvonne Audrey (Byers) Grimes – Davidson was born May 14, 1937 to Clarence and Sally (Grapevine) Byers in Knoxville, Iowa. She passed from this life, November 15, 2013 at the Legacy Lodge Hospice located in Chariton, Iowa at 76 years of age.

Yvonne attended school in Knoxville, Iowa. In 1954, she graduated from the Knoxville High School. In 1955, she married Walt Grimes and to this union was blessed with four children, Tony, Terry, Joy and Mitch. In 1978, she was remarried to Glenn "Junior" Davidson in the town of Nashua, Iowa.

They made Chariton, Iowa their home.

Yvonne made her career as a medical secretary until retirement. Among her hobbies were Bingo, card games, dice games, and spending cherished moment with her beloved family. She also loved watching sports on tv, especially the Chicago Cubs and the Iowa Hawkeyes. In her younger days, she loved to bowl with the Hy-Vee team.

She loved family reunions and close family holiday events. Family was extremely important to her and a lot of time was spent with the grandchildren.

Recently, she loved to go with her sisters, Dell and Mary to the opera house at Rathbun to listen to her nephew, David Pitt, sing. She loved spending time with her friends over coffee.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parent, Clarence and Sally Byers; her siblings, May, Dell, Bud, Johnny, Joyce, Ardith, Janice, Jerry, Betty Jean; and her grandson, Matthew Grimes.

She is survived by her husband, Junior Davidson; her children, Terry
(Mark) Halferty of Chariton, IA, Joy Amos of Indianola, IA,
Tony Grimes of Arizonia,
and Mitchell Grimes of Chariton, IA; her grandchildren, Chary Swarthout,
Wyler Halferty, Ross Halferty, Chad Amos, Cory Amos, Cole Amos, Rachel , Josiah, Anna, and Jessica and Mason Grimes; her great grandchildren, Drew Swarthout, Waylen, Camden and Courteney McCurdy,
Kierra Haferty, Madison Gustafson, Raygan Halferty, Kennedy, Parker Dylan and Blaine Amos ; her brother, Hughey Byers and her sister, Mary Courtney of Knoxville, IA; many family and close friends.

She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
