Services for Wilson D. Brown, 62, of Holiday Lake, Brooklyn, a former resident of Knoxville and Melcher-Dallas, who passed away June 29, 1992 in his home, were held July 2 at the Nevenhoven Funeral Home Brooklyn. Burial was in Dallas Cemetery Melcher-Dallas.

Rev. Kalen K. Fristad officiated at the services. Music was provided by organist Marilyn Kriegel. Casketbearers were Wilbur Gordon, Ricky Gordon, Steve Gordon, Allen Gordon, Ronny Gordon and Craig Gordon.

Mr. Brown, son of Daniel Delbert (b.1893-d.1934) and Fay Merriman Brown (b.1892-d.1962), was born Sept. 24, 1929 in Dallas, Iowa.

He received his education in a rural, school and Knoxville where he graduated from high school. He served with the U.S. Army from Jan. 11, 1949 to Jan. 12, 1952. Mr. Brown farmed,worked at Brady Mfg. in Des Moines and was a home builder in Alaska, Des Moines and surrounding
communities of Des Moines.

He moved to Brooklyn in 1990 from Newton. He was a member of the Francis Gallagher American Legion Post #294 of Brooklyn. Mr. Bingham was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Leland Merriman Brown.

He is survived by his friend, Mari Murphy of Brooklyn; and several cousins including Eilene Bingham and Madonna Wood of Knoxville.

A memorial fund has been established for Home Health Services or Hospice of Grinnell.
