William Eugene Freridge born in Little Rock, Arkansas December 12, 1928, passed peacefully on February 6, 2020 at the age of 91.

He attended high school in Knoxville, Iowa where he met and in 1950 married his high school sweetheart. They celebrated 70 years of marriage.

He is survived by his wife Donna Glee (Halligan) (Moss) Freridge and (4) daughters, Debra Mitchell, Heidi & Husband Greg DeMott, Robin Daut and Terrie & Husband David Mohn, (7) Grandkids, Billy & wife Geneva Mitchell, Zachary & wife Terri Medina, Jayson & wife Kate Hardcastle, Joshua Medina, Kim & husband Judd Kall, Rachel Daut, Remington Daut and (11) Great Grandkids.

He served in the Army and in 1954 he, his wife and their firstborn moved to Phoenix, Arizona where he was employed with Arizona Public Service Company.

He was an active volunteer in his community and a Boy Scout leader with his church. In 1972 his job took him and his family to Yuma AZ.

He retired after 33 years with APS. He was very involved with the Optimist Club, Toastmasters, Trinity Methodist Church, and the Republican Party.

In 2002 he was honored as the state Republican volunteer of the year.

A great-grandpa was teaching all his grandkids how to swim and fish. He enjoyed working with wood and made memorable keepsakes including whistles.

He made and donated walking canes to the Yuma Breast Cancer Organization for their auctions as his mother and sister both died of breast cancer.

He was a great family man who helped to create a big and loving family who will miss him deeply.

There will be a celebration of life at The Montecito Senior Living Center, 17271 N. 87th Ave., Peoria AZ, Friday, February 14, 2020, at 4:00 pm.
