Wayne Dean King passed away Friday March 21, 2025 at Houston Methodist hospital in Conroe, TX.
Wayne was born April 30, 1949 in Chariton, IA son of E. Keith and Lucinda A (James) King.
Wayne graduated from Knoxville, IA high school with the class of 1968 and Des Moines Area Community College with an Associate Degree in telecommunications.
He worked for Continental Telephone in the Chariton and Knoxville, IA offices before transferring to the Minnesota office as regional engineer. He then transferred to the Dallas, TX office when Contel sold the Minnesota region operations. Wayne also worked for Citizens and Verison in Texas.
Wayne was a self employed handy man after leaving the telecommunications field.
Wayne married Suzanne Mills in 1969. They were parents of four children.
Wayne was preceded in death by parents Keith and Lucinda, wife Suzanne, and brothers David and Jay.
He is survived by children Kari Ann (Ramiro) Barron, Matthew James (Wendi) King, Alicia King, and Jennifer King, 7 grandchildren, one great grandchild, brothers Kenneth, Rex and Michael, sisters Kay King and Linda Whitt, and multiple nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is expected in Iowa or Minnesota in the next few months.
