CPL. Thomas Edward Blubaugh, 19, son of Mrs. Edna Blubaugh and Harry Blubaugh was killed Sunday morning in a gun accident at Da nang Air Base where he had been stationed with the Marine corps in Viet Nam, according to the word received in Knoxville by his family. Thomas had been in Viet Nam for the past 2 months.

Funeral services for Lance Corporal Thomas E. Blubaugh, who died July 11 in Viet Nam were held July 24 at the Assembly of God Church with Rev. M. H. Mooberry officiating

Mrs. M. H. Mooberry, organist accompanied Sandra Altos, the soloist.

Burial was in Greenwood cemetery with Bybee & Davis funeral home in charge.

The body was accompanied to Knoxville by military escort and pallbearers were Staff Sergeant James W. Later. Staff Sergeant Rodger W. Helwick, Sergeant Donavan G.Diggins, and Sergeant William C. Bridgeman, members of the U.S.M.C.

He attended the Knoxville schools with the Class of 1965 and enlisted in the Marine Corps on March 7, 1963.

After training at Camp Pendleton, (Calif.), he was home on furlough at Christmas time and left Jan. 16 for Honolulu, then to Okinawa and Viet Nam in early May. He was preceded in death by a brother, Gerold.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Eugene of Knoxville and Jack of Pleasantville, and one sister Mrs. Harold VandeKamp of Bridgeport, Texas.
