Funeral services for Ted Lee Kelderman, 60, of Potosi, Mo., who died February 17, at
his home, were held February 19, 1999, at the First Baptist Church in Potosi.
Burial
was at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo. The Rev. Stanley
Payne officiated at the services. Pallbearers were Keith Kelderman. Billy Kelderman,
Larry Swayne• Sam Scarfino, Johnny Johnson, Kelley Silvey, Jeff Newcomer, and Michael
Schlosser. Honorary bearers were Amy Kelderman, Kevin Brockway, Jessica Silvey,
Jaclyn Silvey, and Klinton Silvey.
Ted was born January 12, 1939, near Knoxville,
the son of Willie and Kathryn Glover Kelderman. He attended Liberty country school
and graduated from Knoxville High School.
He and his brother Keith enlisted in the
U.S. Coast Guard attended boot camp together and was assigned to the same Coast
Guard Cutter was stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii, where they made several trips to Japan
before being separated.
After his discharge, he worked in the banking and lending
field for 15 years. He then worked for two years for the American Motorcycle Association,
of which he was a lifetime member. He was a long time past member of the Potosi
Rotary Club, and a member of the First Baptist Church in Potosi, Mo.
He was united
in marriage to Beverly Thompson Newcomer on July 28, 1979, in Potosi, Mo. The couple
spent 17 years as real estate brokers.
He is survived by his wife; a daughter, Amy
Kelderman of Dallas, Texas; step-children Angie and Michael Schlosser and Kathy
and Kelley Silvey, all of Potosi, Mo., Jeff and Pam Newcomer of Roanoke. Va.,
and Kevin and Cathy Brockway of LaPorte, Ind.; and three brothers, Keith Kelderman
of Manning and Billy Kelderman and Larry Swayne, both of Knoxville; a sister;
Marjorie Johnson of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; his sister-in-law, Judy Kelderman of Knoxville;
and 14 grandchildren.
Arrangements were made by Britton Funeral Home in Potosi,
Mo.
