Steven Mark Bacus was born January 7,  1954  in Oskaloosa, Iowa the son of Charles and Altheo (Hyslope) Bacus.

He was raised in Knoxville and graduated with the Class of 1972.

On September 25, 1971 Steve was united in marriage to Janet Sue Pendroy in Knoxville.

They were blessed with two daughters, Stephanie and Selena. Steve was a professional painting contractor along with his partner, Ed Pearson for over 25 years to retirement.

In his spare time, Steve was an avid reader. He also enjoyed the outdoors, whether he was fishing, canoeing or arrowhead hunting.

His greatest joy was spending time with his daughters and grandchildren.

Steve passed away Monday, November 4, 2024 at Care Initiatives Hospice at the age of 70 years.

In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his wife, Janet; her parents, Dale and Mae Pendroy;

son-in-law, Brian Kitt; brother, Richard Bacus; sisters-in-law, Ann Pendroy and Tink Pendroy; brothers-in-law, Sid Vander Ploeg and

Don Pendroy; nephew, Hung Luu and niece, Jackie Mantia.

Those left to cherish Steve’s memory include his daughters: Stephanie Kitt of Ankeny and Selena Bacus of Knoxville;

four grandchildren: Logan Bacus, Abigail O’Brien, Rorie O’Brien and Landon Kitt; great-granddaughter, Nova Lynn McMichael;

brother, Charles Bacus; in-laws: Linda Bacus, Jim (Natalie) Pendroy, Richard (Pat) Pendroy, Jack Pendroy and Diane Vander Ploeg;

many nieces and nephews and other family members and friends.
