Shirley was employed as a Purchasing Agent with the Veterans Administration in Fort Lyon, CO until she retired in 1972.

After retirement, Shirley and David spent many years in Buena Vista, South Park, and Salida, CO. She loved her mountain top home, the wildlife, and the breathtaking views. In 2008, they relocated to La Junta to be closer to family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, David Constancio of the La Junta home; three children, Patricia (Herb) Faus of La Junta, David Jr. (Linda) Constancio of Phoenix, AZ, and Mark (Gail) Constancio of Chicago, IL; eight grandchildren, Cindy (Monty) Canfield of McClave, CO, Christina (Bill) Hartless of La Junta, Cathy (Kenton) Parker of Swink, Dustin Faus (Natalie Cox) of La Junta, Kristin (Guido) Gioberto of San Francisco, CA, Amanda (Joe) Fedje of Denver, Anthony Constancio (Alexa Daiutolo) of Denver, Natalie Constancio of Denver and 14 great-grandchildren.

Shirley was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her sharp mind, quick wit, strength, and compassion were a source of inspiration and appreciated by all who knew her.

She was an avid reader, an amazing cook, loved to travel, liked to fish, and, most of all, she treasured spending time with her family. Many remember fondly how she kept in touch with friends and family through beautiful handwritten letters. She will be deeply missed by all but never forgotten.
