Sheryl Lynn Hunt was born July 17, 1948, in Knoxville, Iowa the daughter of Clarence and Velta (Burt) VandeKamp.

She graduated from Knoxville High School with the Class of 1966. During high school, Sheryl worked at the Corner Café.

She then worked for the Iowa Department of Social Services for a few years.

On February 15, 1969, Sheryl was united in marriage to Billie James Hunt in Knoxville.

Through the years, Sheryl worked for the Coffee Cup Café, Modern Cleaners, Howell’s Cleaners, and Beulah’s Café and ran a daycare. She retired in 2000.

In her spare time, Sheryl enjoyed playing cards and bingo.

Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her daughter, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Sheryl passed away Friday, November 25, 2022, at her home at the age of 74 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Velta VandeKamp; her husband, Billie; twin sisters: Donna and Dixie; brother, John in 1977 and sisters: Shirley Hull, Shelia Heck, and Shelby Caley.

Those left to cherish Sheryl’s memory include her daughter, Jayme (Travis) Mallory; grandchildren: Jeremy (Jamee) Angove, Jacob (Amber) Angove, and Jordan (Alexia Bradley) Angove; great-grandchildren: Mikah, Temperance, Carsten, Canaan, Evelynn, Greyson and Haddie and many other family members and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Suncrest Hospice or to the Knoxville Rescue Unit.
