Scott Irvin Thompson, died on May 20, 2006, at the University Hospital in Iowa City at the age of
30.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Irvin Thompson. Survivors include
his wife, Katie (Alterman); parents, Jerry and Cathy of Knoxville; siblings, Jamie
Rasko of Des Moines, Ashley Johnson of Knoxville and Travis Thompson of Littleton,
Colo.; grandparents, Iva Thompson of Marysville, Mo. and Verne and Elaine Crabbs
of Earlham and two nieces, Madison and Natalie Johnson and many other family members
and friends.

Funeral services were held on May 25 at Faith Baptist Church with Pastor
Curt Gordon and Pastor Melvin Mattox officiating. Interment was in Graceland Cemetery
at Knoxville. Memorials may be made to the Cavaliers Drum Corps., Coe College Music
Dept., American Cancer Society or the Keokuk High School Music Boosters.

Scott Irvin Thompson was born on Aug. 14, 1975, in Kirksville, Mo. to Jerry
and Cathy (Ciabbs) Thompson.

Scott graduated from the Knoxville High School in 1994.
He was an accomplished trumpet player and always active in band. He then attended
Coe College, graduating in 1998. He taught in Central City one year before moving
to Keokuk in the fall of 1999. He was the head of the instrumental music program and band director for the Keokuk High School. He was also a performer and instructor
for the drum corps for seven years. Scott’s passion was music and teaching young
people.

On April 1, 2006, he married Katie Allerman in Keokuk.

Scott’s passion for life and people is evidenced by his generosity in choosing to be an organ donor.
