Samuel Sheldon Fisher III was born June 6, 1941 in Knoxville, Iowa the son of Samuel Sheldon Fisher II and Geraldine Augusta (Kading) Fisher.

He was raised in Knoxville and graduated from Knoxville High School in the Class of 1959. Sam farmed most of his life and raised Hereford cattle. Sam obtained a real estate license in 1984 and eventually opened his own business, Keystone Realty. He also had a farm appraisal service. He served on the CO-OP Board, Marion County Mutual Board, and the Marion County Board of Realtors and was active in the First United Methodist Church. He was also a mentor for 4-H and F.F.A.

Sam’s passion was raising cattle and working the land. He loved being outdoors and helping people. He instilled a strong work ethic and compassion for others in his daughters and grandchildren. He will be remembered as a kind and loving father, grandfather, and friend.

Sam passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at Locust Hill at the age of 72 years. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Those left to honor his memory include three daughters: Sue (Rick) Kauzlarich of Knoxville, Sally (Kevin) Clark of Attica, and Katie (Ben) Truetken of Knoxville, and 5 grandchildren: Zeke and Jenna Kauzlarich, Eric and Ben Clark, and Sam Truetken and many other family members and friends.

Visitation will begin after 12:00 noon on Friday at the Bybee & Davis Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
