Ruth Fayetta (VanderLinden) Mikesell was born to Ira and Belle (Simms) VanderLinden on Sept. 15, 1937,
in Knoxville and attended school in Knoxville.

She married William G. Mikesell and lived in Newton most of her life. She worked in the factory at Maytag until she retired.
Ruth was a member of the ladies of the Moose.

She is survived by her husband of 47 years, William G. Mikesell of Newton; three sons, Jack Mikesell of Irving, Texas; Bill (Stacy) Mikesell of Tualatin, Ore. and Randy (Donna) Mikesell of Newton; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers,
Ray Vander Linden of Joplin. Mo. and Date (Judy) Vander Linden of Baxter; five sisters, Viola Knapp of
Cedar Falls, Muriel (Harry) Sharp of Knoxville, Edna “Whitney” (Charles) Nelson of Melcher, Lucille (Joe) Urias of
Newton and Sandra Williams of Knoxville and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, David W. Mikesell; four brothers, Paul, Ira Jr., Bob and Jack VanderLinden
and her sister, Louise Harvey Ruth Mikesell of Newton died June 29, 2005, at Skiff Medical Center.

Funeral services were held July 2 with Chaplain Merle Smith of Skiff Medical Center officiating.
Burial was in Newton Union Cemetery.
