Russell Glen Marshall, 63, of Mechanicsville, VA, and formerly of Knoxville, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 24, 2013, after his battle with cancer
His father, mother and brother precede him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy; his children, Ryan Marshall (Lisa), Kim Furr (Robbie), Jennifer Harris (Mark), Angela DeMaria, and Tony DeMaria (Amanda); in addition to 18 grandchildren, brothers, sisters, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Russ was born January 7, 1950 and raised in Knoxville. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and he worked for Vermeer for 41 years, before relocated to Virginia in 1988.
He was an incredible husband; father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
Russ is survived by his wife, Cindy; his children, Ryan Marshall (Lisa), Kim Furr (Robbie), Jennifer Harris (Mark), Angela DeMaria and Tony DeMaria (Amanda); and 19 grandchildren.
Russ is also survived by his brothers and sisters: Richard Marshall, Dixie Donaldson, Harold Marshall, Sonja South, Charles Marshall, Ronald Marshall, Connie Hunt, Keith Marshall, Kenneth Marshall, and Thomas Marshall; and his many cousins, nieces and nephews, especially Jamie and Renea Marshall.
He was preceded by his parents, Asa and Ellen Marshall and his brother in infancy.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 27 at 3:00p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home in Ashland, VA.

Russ’ family will be greeting friends on Friday, August 30th from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Winfield Funeral Home in Knoxville. Starting at 4:30 p.m. there will be a time of sharing in honor of Russ and concluding with military honors.
