Funeral services for Russell Eldon Crozier, 86, of Knoxville, who died December 31, 1997, at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital, were held January 3, 1998, at Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville.
Burial was at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville. Pastor Tim Stanwood officiated at
the services. Music was provided by Jim Kidder, organist, and John T. Crawford,
vocalist. Pallbearers were Bob De Joode, Dwight Glover, Marion Goff, Gordon Hayes,
Keith Marshall, and Richard Rowland.
Russell was born February 14, 1911, in Pinchey, the son of Effie Pearl Williams
and Elmer Wilson Crozier. He graduated from Knoxville High School.
He was united in marriage to Eliza Eva Graham on February 24, 1936, in Tracy. He
was a farmer and served as a 4-H leader for the s 4-H Club for 74 years He also
served for many years on the County Fair Board. In later years, he worked at the
ASCS Office, and served as County Committee Chairman. He served on the Knoxville
School Board, and was past president.
He was a member of Christ's Church in Knoxville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Donna Jean; two brothers; and
a sister.
He is survived by his wife of Knoxville; three sons, James of Chariton, Richard
of Knoxville, and Dwayne of Des Moines; two nieces, Patty Jesup and Betty DeZwarte;
nine grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Christ's Church, the Knoxville Booster Club, and Marion County 4-H.
