Rose Ann “Rosy” (Briggs) Harrington was born June 26, 1950 in Centerville, IA the daughter of Wilbur “Junior” and Hazel (Daily) Briggs.

Rosy attended Knoxville High School and graduated in 1968. Rosy worked for several years as the assistant bookkeeper at the Hy-Vee, and then for Dr. Jeffrey Meyer as a chiropractic assistant. For nearly 20 years, Rosy worked as the volunteer coordinator for Hospice of Central Iowa now known as EveryStep in the Knoxville and Des Moines offices. Rosy took great solace in ensuring that the end of life for patients and their families was met with grace and dignity.

Rosy enjoyed spending time with Frosty at area car shows with the ’32. She cherished her time with her grandchildren. Rosy never wanted to miss a swim meet, hockey game, dance show, or school activity or event. Rosy developed lifelong friendships from every segment of her life from high school, her Hy-Vee family, life on Competine, countless hospice volunteers and patient families, and the hot rod crew.

Rosy passed away on Friday, March 13, 2020 in Des Moines, IA at Kavanaugh House. She was proceeded in death by her parents.

Those left to cherish Rosy’s memory include her husband of 50 years Forest “Frosty” Harrington of Knoxville, IA; sons Scott (Katherine) Harrington, Des Moines, IA, Jeremy (Angie) Harrington, Des Moines, IA; grandchildren: Ella, Benjamin, Cooper, Anna, and Hazel; brother Gene (Kathy) Briggs, Fort Meyers, FL; sister-in-law Sharon (Arland) Jolly, Pleasantville, IA and brother-in-law Merrill (Barb) Harrington, Pleasant Hill, IA, and Jolene Harrington, Knoxville, IA; nephews: Thad Briggs, Branden (Fiona) Briggs, Mike (Patty) Harrington, Matt (Lonny) RoseAnn BriggsHarrington, David (Natalie) Jolly, Richard (Shanna) Harrington, and Ted Harrington; nieces: Tammy (Jeff) Jenkins, Jennifer (Don) Dursky, Rhoni Jo (Chad) Barnes, Kate (Andy) Leth, many great-nieces and nephews, other family members and friends.
