Funeral Services for Ronald Eugene Miller, age 63 Knoxville, will be held on Monday, January 9, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Knoxville. Burial will follow in the Lincoln Cemetery.

Visitation will begin after 12:00 p.m. Sunday at the Bybee & Davis Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a youth agriculture program to be determined.

Ronald E. Miller was born December 27, 1953, in Des Moines, Iowa the son of Marvin and Alberta (Kading) Miller.

He graduated from Knoxville High School in 1972 and then attended DMACC, receiving degrees in Agronomy Business and Agronomy Crop Production. Ron then managed the CO-OP in Melcher-Dallas for a few years. He farmed his entire life and had worked for the A.S.C.S. office and as a crop adjuster for Rain & Hail.

Ron was very active in Marion County and was a member of the Marion County Historical Society, Genealogy Society, the SCC CO-OP Board, the Pork Producers, and the FFA Advisory Board.

He also helped write the Melcher-Dallas History book. He was very involved with 4-H during his life and helped youth learn better farming practices. On his own farm, Ron was a faithful John Deere man.

Ron passed away Thursday, January 5, 2017, at his home at the age of 63 years.

Those left to cherish Ron’s memory include his parents, Marvin and Alberta Miller of Knoxville; brother, Don Miller of Satanta, Kansas; his best friend and life partner, Leslie VanderLinden of Knoxville and many other family members and friends.
