Ronald Charles “Cuddles” Bailey, age 63, of Columbiana, died at 7:58 a.m. Thursday, May 1, 2014, at the Hospice House in Poland, Ohio with his family by his side. He was born June 3, 1950, in Knoxville, Iowa, the son of the late William Jack and Joann (Grabow) Bailey.

Ron graduated in 1969 from high school in Knoxville, Iowa, and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He received an associate degree and three B.S. degrees from Nathaniel Hawthorne College in Antrim, New Hampshire in 1980.

Ron was employed in the industrial sales packaging industry with Salem Label for 17 years, with the Marken Company as an account executive, and at the MPI Label Company for the last 10 years.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #290 in Columbiana, American Legion Riders, and the Firestone Farm Golf Club.

His wife, Lillian E. (Taylor) Bailey, whom he married on November 20, 1971, preceded him in death on October 1, 2012.

Survivors include two sons, Ronald “Chad” (Anna) Bailey Jr. of Salem and Sean Bailey of Columbiana; a brother, Dennis (Sylvia) Bailey of Beaufort, South Carolina; three stepsisters, Karen Sparks, Mary Cline, and Corlinda Evans all of Iowa; and grandchildren, Jack, Maleah, and Carson Bailey.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2014, at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Banner officiating. Calling hours will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Columbiana Cemetery with military honors provided by the Post #290 Honor Guard.
