Romona Luann (Brees) Cooper was born on December 10, 1954 in Oskaloosa, Iowa, the daughter of Lewis and Mildred (Roland) Brees.
Luann graduated from Knoxville High School and then attended Open Bible College. She began working for Valley View Village in Des Moines as a CNA, where she was employed for over 27 years. Luann lived in Des Moines for 35 years, and when her health began to fail, she moved to Knoxville, where she has lived for the past nine years.
Luann enjoyed music and singing. She also loved going to the Iowa State Fair with her son. She was a very strong woman, and despite her many health problems, her family never heard her complain.
Luann Cooper passed away Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at Griffins Nursing Center in Knoxville at the age of 59 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Kenneth Brees.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Nathan Cooper of Knoxville; sisters, Linda Rickabaugh and Alberta Morgan, both of Knoxville; and brother, Dan Brees of Knoxville.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 28 at 10:30 a.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville. Burial will follow in Ridlen Cemetery in rural Knoxville.
A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the family for the care of her son, Nathan Cooper.
