Robert Wilfred McDonald was born October 16, 1947, in Knoxville.
He attended the Knoxville Schools, but before he graduated he became a soldier in the Vietnam War.
Starting his tour of duty on December 9, 1969, and on June 16, 1970, paid the ultimate price for his country, in South Vietnam Province Quang Ngai.
