Reed P. Smith passed away Nov. 25, 2008, in Rochester, Minn., at the age of 79.

He is survived
by his wife Bonnie; children: Kathy (Ron) Wilson of Knoxville, Vicky Ohnemus of
Carlisle, and Kim (Jim) Damon of Minnesota; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren;
a brother Ken (Vi) Smith of Chariton; and three nephews.

Reed Smith Funeral services
for Reed P. Smith, 79, were held Nov. 29 at the First Baptist Church in Knoxville.
Interment was in the Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville. Memorials are requested to

Reed P. Smith was born
in Lucas County on Sept. 15, 1929, to Worth G. and Edna Smith. He attended local
country schools and graduated from Knoxville High School in 1947.

He was married
to Bonnie Cade on June 13, 1948, in Pleasantville and they were blessed with three
girls: Kathy, Vicky, and Kim. Reed was a farmer and reretiring from farming worked at the Hy-Vee Store in Knoxville. He was a 4-H Leader, member of the church board,
and school board.

Reed loved the outdoors. He enjoyed working at the farm, fishing,
deer hunting, and traveling. In the 1970s Reed started the tradition of taking family
vacations every year with all his children and grandchildren.
