Raymond Eugene Stone of Tracy, Iowa was born July 16, 1947 in Knoxville, Iowa and passed away February 25, 2017 at the Comfort House in Pella, Iowa.

Ray was the oldest of four children born to Vena (Mason) and Homer Stone. He attended school in Knoxville and graduated from Twin Cedars High School and worked for the Marion County Engineer's Office. He served as the Marion County Emergency Management Coordinator until his retirement.

Ray was also active with the Red Cross and EMT training services. His love for helping people was instrumental in the development of the Clay Township Fire and Rescue Department.

In 1966 Ray married Susan Milledge and they had two children, Jennifer (Don) Lanke of Pella, Iowa, and Eric (Carri) Stone of Tracy, Iowa.

Ray loved the great outdoors, hunting, fishing, his dogs, and spending time with his pride and joy – his grandkids. Ray enjoyed coaching Little League and Babe Ruth baseball, coaching off the field as well as on. He spent countless hours on a fastpitch softball field, making lifelong memories and friendships with his teammates that whom he shared the fastpitch passion. It was always ' a good day to play.'

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, children, and grandchildren Ryan (Abbie) Lanke, Molly Lanke, and Blake and Bailey Stone. He is also survived by his siblings Noni McGee, Gail Waits, and Gene Stone, along with many nieces and nephews.Raymond Stone

A celebration of life service will take place at the Clay Township Fire Station in Tracy on Wednesday, March 1st at 11:00 am.

Ray’s family will be greeting friends from 10:00 A.M. until service time.

A luncheon will follow services at the fire station. In lieu of flowers, a memorial may be made to Clay Township Fire and Rescue.
