Raymond Carl Kersey was born Oct. 18, 1937, near Harvey, Iowa, the son of Roy L. Kersey b.Feb 13, 1902 d.Jul 31, 1981 and Mary Van Oostrum b.Aug 08, 1905 d.Jul 15, 1993 . He lived in or near there until he moved with his family to Oregon in the 1960s.

On March 3, 1961, he was married to Joan Bruenekool. They had three children: Mary (Chuck) Cone, Carla (Leonard) Cravens and Le Roy.

He drove a school bus for Knoxville Schools and worked for Durham Quarry. In Oregon he was employed by Roseburg Lumber, Tri Met Bus and Union Oil. He enjoyed NASCAR racing and traveling.

Raymond passed away Nov. 16, 2007 at the home of his daughter, Mary, in Greshem, Ore.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Don b.Nov 04, 1926 d.Mar 07, 1971. He is survived by his wife, Joan; children, Mary (Chuck) Cone of Greshem, Ore. Carla (Leonard) Cravens of Desert Hot Springs, Calif., and Le Roy of Greshem, brother Jerry of Harvey, many nieces and nephews, five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
