Raymond A. Edwards, 85, of Monroe, died Friday, April 11, 2008, at Skiff Medical Center in Newton.

Graveside services for Mr. Edwards were held on Wednesday, April 16, at
Columbia Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Monroe Recreation Complex and online
condolences may be left for the family at www.cobunfmeralhomes.com.

The son of Elmer and Ruth (Stotts) Edwards, Ray was born on Jan. 18, 1923, at Columbia.
He was a graduate of Knoxville High School Class of 1940.

On Dec. 10, 1949, Ray was united in marriage with Doris M. Alford at the Little Brown Church of Nashua. Ray proudly served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. Ray was a Tool and Dye Maker for Maytag. He enjoyed woodworking, playing cards, music, and spending time with family.

Ray was a member of the Monroe American Legion, Monroe United Methodist Church, Forever Young, and the Men’s Methodist Group. Those left to honor his memoryRaymond Edwards
are his sons; Curt Edwards and his wife Val of Monroe, and Tim Edwards and his wife
Rhonda of Monroe, his grandchildren; Angie Clark and her husband Jacob of Prairie
City, Kyle Edwards of Monroe, and Jeff Edwards of Monroe, and one great-grandson;
Kaden Clark.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Doris in 2003, and his sister Gertrude Heath.
