Randy Charles Salsberry, age 49, of Knoxville, Iowa, passed away Tuesday morning, October 6, 2015, at the Pella Regional Hospital.

Randy’s wishes were cremation and a celebration of Randy’s life will begin at 1:30, Sunday, October 11, 2015, at the National Sprint Car Hall of Fame and Museum in Knoxville, Iowa, with Randy’s family present.

Randy was born on October 7, 2015, in Knoxville, Iowa, to Richard Charles and Rena Sue (Harvey) Salsberry. Randy was raised in Knoxville, with Randy’s father, Richard, and his stepmother Mary Jane “Janie” Salsberry. Randy attended Knoxville High School, Class of 1984.

During and after graduating high school, Randy served in the Iowa National Guard for six years. Randy was released on Honorable Medical discharge. After his service Randy was a jack of all trades, working mainly in construction. He enjoyed bicycling, Sprint Car Racing, being outdoors, fishing, and especially training and working with dogs. Randy had a big heart and made everyone smile.

Randy is survived by his children; Austin Lloyd (Katelyn) Salsberry, stationed in Germany, Richard James(Stefanie) Salsberry of Knoxville, and Cody Charles Aiello of Oelwein, Iowa.

Randy is also survived by his mother, Rena Schmitz; step-mother, Mary Jane “Janie” Salsberry; seven siblings; Scott Schmitz, Steve Schmitz, Robert (Joy) Salsberry, Jeff (Kelly) Dircks, Rebecca (Ryan) Hochart, Jolene (Tim) Hoffman, and Billie Jo (Cory) Olsen and many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father Richard Charles Salsberry, step-father; Bill Schmitz, and one brother John Dircks.
