Philip E. Jarrell, 78, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away on August 2, 2003. Born: May 22, 1925, in Knoxville, Iowa to Joseph and Bernice (Betterton) Jarrell.

He served in WW II in the Navy and was honorably discharged with the rank of Fireman First Class. He worked for Maytag in Newton, IA for fourteen years and retired after 24 years from Frigidaire Washer/Dryer Div. of Webster City, IA in 1988 as Director of Quality Control.

Phil and his wife, Jacky, have resided in Arizona since 1990.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, LaVerle (b.1926-d.1978) and son Jon Leslie.

He is survived by his wife, Jacky (Hosselton); son Michael of Harlan IA; daughters, Peggy Fisher of Webster City, IA; Denice (Mike) Fort of Columbia, TN; Patrice (Steve) Nicoson of Urbandale, IA; Shirley (Clarke) Carlson of Stratford, IA; Trisha (Dan) Nixon of Ankeny, IA; & Tanya (Mat) McCarty of Gilbert, AZ; 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service was held in Arizona on Thursday, August 7, 2003. Visitation will be held at Foster Funeral Home, 800 Willson Ave, Webster City, IA, on Friday, August 22, 2003 from 7-9 pm with internment at Graceland Cemetery in Webster City at 3:00 pm, Saturday, August 23, 2003.
