Services for Patty Lou (Brown), 65, of the Northridge Living Center Center in Chariton,
who died of heart failure on Aug. 18, 1993, at the Northridge Living Center in Chariton,
were Aug. 21, 1993, at the Fielding Funeral Home in Chariton.

Burial was at the
Greenwood Cemetery in Knoxville. The Rev. John Gran officiated at the service. Pallbearers
were John Allen, Vern Dahleen, Don Willis, Bill Cross, Keith Nickelson, and David
Beatty.

Patty was born on Oct. 18, 1927, in Knoxville, the daughter of Loren and
Grace Brown. She graduated from Knoxville High School in the Class of 1944. On June
15, 1946, she was married to Richard Kerr and the couple lived in Knoxville for
many years.

On Dec. 25, 1967, she received a kidney transplant in Cleveland, Ohio
, and returned home in May 1968. She was active with the Kidney Foundation for many
years. She was also a member of the Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, and participated
in many activities of the Women’s Fellowship and held various offices within the
group.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and three sisters,
Mildred Roper, Marjorie Booe, and Polly Tucker. Survivors include her son Rick Kerr
of Des Moines; one daughter, Vickey Dale of Chariton; two brothers, Bill Brown of
Des Moines and Bobby Brown of Ankeny; four grandchildren; and several nieces and
nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Kidney Care P.C. of the Iowa Methodist Medical
Center in Des Moines. The Fielding Funeral Home in Chariton was in charge of the
arrangements.
