Services for Olious Omen Washington 20, of Knoxville, who died of cancer on April 24, 1988, at Knoxville Area Community Hospital, were held on April 27 at the Faith Baptist Church. Bybee and Davis Funeral Home were in charge of arrangements.

The interment was in Graceland Cemetery. The Rev. Melvin Mattox officiated at the services. Music was provided by Fran VanderHart, organist, and Roberta Farrington, soloist. Pallbearers were John Bryson, Randy Jones Lonnie Essick, Ron Klaybe, Roylanda West, Roger Sytsma, Doug Harrington, and Bryan Klootwyk.

Mr. Washington was born on Sept. 25, 1967, in Des Moines, the son of Olious and Mars West Washington.

He attended elementary and high school in Knoxville, graduating in 1986. He had been active in sports, lettering in football and track; was president of his freshman class, and had served as president of the Knoxville F.F.A. Chapter.

He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandfathers. he is survived by his parents; two sisters, Michelle Jordan of Boone and Desiree at home; five brothers, Tracy of Los Angeles, Calif., Stacy of Grinnell, and Marvin, James, and Kenneth at home; and his grandmothers, Margarette Washington of Knoxville and Tetter West of Navasota, Texas.

A memorial has been established for the American Cancer Society.
