Services for Oletha (Crawford) Lister, 72, who died March 5, 1983 at Iowa Lutheran
Hospital in Des Moines, were held March 9 at Evans-McCleery Funeral Home. Interment
was in Graceland Cemetery.
Rev. Wayne Hoehns officiated at the services. Music was
provided by John Crawford, soloist, and Jim Kidder, organist Pallbearers were Wendell
Winters, Raymond Orr, Harry Sims, Donald Damewood, Ernest Wyld and Harold Raster.
Mrs. Lister was born April 24, 1910 in Knoxville, the daughter of Frank and Edith
May Crawford. She attended the Knoxville schools and graduated from Knoxville High
School in 1929. She received her Business Diploma from Capital City Commercial College
in Des Moines in 1930.
She was married to Walter A. Lister on Oct. 19, 1936 in Des
Moines. She was employed by the Marion County Attorney's Office, Dennis Trucking
Company and Ford Motor Company in Centerville.
She owned Lister's Fashion Center
in Knoxville for 16 years. She later owned Hallmark Card and Gift Shop in Waterloo.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Knoxville, Business and
Professional Womens Club and Rebecca Lodge.
She is survived by her husband, Walter;
two nieces, Mrs. (Dr. George) Anna Mae Hausman of Ames and Mrs. (James R.) Charmiane
Moore of Danville, Cal.; one great nephew and three great nieces.
