Funeral services for Brice Norman Brown MD, 63 of Winnsboro, LA will be 2 PM Thursday
September 25, 2008, at New Zion Baptist Church near Winnsboro with Rev. Tommy Basco
officiating under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home in Winnsboro.
Visitation will be 5-9 PM Wednesday at the church.

Norman was the only child of Davis Brown and Wilma Arlene Brown, born in Chariton, Iowa
on July 25, 1945, and he passed from this life on September 19, 2008, in St. Francis
Medical in Monroe.

He was a member of New Zion Baptist Church where he loved to sing in the church
choir. He served Gideon International as State Membership Coordinator. In his
local Winnsboro Gideon Camp, he served as Past President and was the current Secretary.

He attended the University of Iowa, graduating in 1967 Phi Beta Kappa with a B.S.
in Chemistry. Dr. Brown attended Stanford Medical School graduating in 1972 and
completing his medical residency in San Diego, CA in 1978.

He was a Major in the U.S. Army where he served as a flight surgeon. He moved to
Las Vegas in 1980 and founded a private practice in general surgery which remained
in practice until 1994. He was a member of the American College of Surgeons.Norman Brown

Dr. Brown held various offices in Hospital Leadership and was a member of the Clark
County Medical Society. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Norman is survived by his daughter: Cherin Aquilar and husband John of San Diego,
CA; son: Peter Brown of Moorpark, CA; a special friend Jenni Mobley and her daughter
Lindsay Crymes both of Winnsboro, LA two grandchildren: Nicholas and Jacob Aguilar. His family also consists of his brothers in Christ who make up the Gideon International
and especially those in the Winnsboro Camp.

Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of New Zion Baptist Church
and his fellow Gideon’s.
