Funeral services will be held
Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 1:00 p.m.
Williams Funeral Home, Knoxville, Iowa
Interment will follow in the Graceland Cemetery at Knoxville, Iowa

Visitation will begin Thursday morning at Williams Funeral Home
where the family will be present from 10 am until the time of the service.

Any memorial contributions may be
designated for the Nicole Johnston Memorial Fund.

Nicole Regene Johnston was born on March 26, 1993 at Pella, Iowa. She was the youngest daughter of Robert L. and Penny (Followill) Johnston.

“Nikki” as she was known attended elementary school in Knoxville, Iowa and completed her education, graduating from Pella High School with the class of 2010. She then went on to attend Marshalltown Community College for one year and then enrolled in the Aveda Institute in Des Moines, Iowa.

Nikki enjoyed cosmetology and eventually became employed in Oskaloosa, Iowa for a short time. She also worked at the Black Oak Pet Boarding Center, fulfilling her love of animals. Nikki worked as a beautician from home attending to the needs of her many friends and family.

She was a talented photographer as evidenced by her photos. Nikki was passionate about her love of music and very dedicated, as she would drive hours to see her favorite band play! She liked attending concerts and learning about glamour and theatrical makeup.

Nikki passed away on April 20, 2017 at the age of 24 years.

She is survived by her mother, Penny and her husband, Vince Jones of Pella; her father, Robert Johnston; two brothers, Aaron Clinkenbeard of Pella, Jamie and his wife Emily Clinkenbeard, and their child, Echo Barnes, of Pella; her sister Christina and her husband Anthony Van Vark, and their two children Hailey and Ryot, of Pella; two half siblings, Chris Johnston and Christie Glass of Alabama; and two step brothers, Steven Jones of Oskaloosa, and Richard Jones of Pella. She also leaves her grandmothers, Maryetta Followill of Knoxville and Sonja Jones of Pella.

Nicole was preceded in death by her grandparents, Alvin “Shorty” Followill, and Basil “Buck” and Martha Johnston.

Nicole will be remembered by her family for making a difference in their lives. Nikki was fun to be around and loved her family. If you needed her, she was always there, for family and friends.

She was very outspoken as well. Nikki was making changes in her life to achieve her dreams and she overcame many challenges and obstacles along the way. She was an artist and a very compassionate individual who impacted many lives daily.

She will forever be in our hearts and deeply missed every day.
