Nayda Lee (Amos) Watson was born February 15, 1922 in Knoxville, Iowa, the daughter of Donald Amos and Etha Rachael (Jones) Amos. Nayda was raised in Knoxville, graduating with the Knoxville High School class of 1940.

Following graduation, she was united in marriage to Paul Faber on July 5, 1941, in Unionville, Missouri, and to this union, three sons were born.

Nayda was later united in marriage to Arthur Watson on April 19, 1969, in Omaha, Nebraska. In 1960, Nayda went to work in food service at the V.A Hospital kitchen until her retirement in 1985.

Following retirement, she went to volunteer for Hospice and Meals on Wheels. Traveling was a love of Nayda’s, traveling to Alaska, Hawaii, the Oregon Coast, New York, Florida, and Branson. Nayda loved to cook for friends and family and also enjoyed growing a tomato plant or two.

Being the youngest generation of her family, Nayda took on the responsibility of helping out her family when they were in need. Nayda passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2009, at West Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 87 years and 1 month.

She is preceded in death by her parents, step-father, John Hayes; first husband, Paul Faber, second husband, Arthur Watson and a brother Worth Amos.

Those left to honor her memory include her sons, Jeff (Kathleen) Faber of Molalla, OR, Tim Faber of Roseburg, OR, Vance (Doris) Faber of Glide, OR; 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; cousins, Sharon Curtis of Lacrosse, WI, Kristen Semler of Iowa City, along with other relatives and many friends.
