Minnie Rosetta (Manhardt) Ramsay, daughter of James W. and Ella (Druet) Manhardlt, was born March 19, 1899 on a farm in Marion County, near Tracy, and after a few months illness died April 24 at the hospital in Pella.
She graduated from the Knoxville Public School and attended Coe College at Cedar Rapids.
On Oct. 15, 1919 in Knoxville, she was united in marriage to George N. Ramsay. They then moved to California where they lived for 16 years and where their two children were born, George William and Ella Mae.
She was a member of the First Methodist Church, the Wesleyan Service Guild, the D.A.R., the American Legion Auxiliary, Business and Professional Women, the Rebekah Lodge, the Women's Club, and the Amvets Auxiliary.
Over the 15 or 16 years she has been employed as a Doctor's nurse, working at the Collins Hospital the office of Dr. Keith Banks and in recent years up until her last illness she worked in the office of Dr. Sloterdyk.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Charles W. Manhardt.
Those who survive are her husband and, one son, George William of Zaria, Nigeria, Africa; one daughter, Mrs. Richard Anderson of Knoxville, two sisters, Clara Dolvin of Spencer, and Sarah Wilson of Marion, Ind.; 8 grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held from Bybee and Davis Funeral Home April 28. Interment in Graceland Cemetery.
