Services for Manda Minerva (Bass) Vroegh, 63, of Knoxville, who passed away Feb. 9, 1991, were held on Feb. 12 at the First Reformed Church. Arrangements were handled by Williams Funeral Home.
Interment was in Graceland Cemetery.

Manda Minerva Bass Vroegh, the daughter of Florence Ethel Fleming and Russ Strong Bass, was born on Feb. 18, 1927 in Knoxville.

As a baby her parents lived in Colorado and Bullsgap, Tenn. Her father died when she was three-years-old. After her mother became ill, she lived with Quince Miners. She began her schooling in the Pleasantville area. When she was eleven, her mother died. She then lived with her aunt, Fern Welch and finished her schooling in Knoxville.

On April 10, 1946 she was united in marriage to James Patrick Vroegh
at the First United Methodist Church
in Knoxville. To this union three
children were born.

James passed away on Feb. 2, 1976.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and baby sister, Lenore Bass.

She is survived by her two sons, John Gerrit Vroegh and Jay
Dean Vroegh of Knoxville; one
daughter, Jan Maureen Post of Woodbine; two grandchildren James and Valerie Williamson of Woodbine; one half-brother, Theodore Eugene
Archer of Dallas, Tex.; one half-
sister, Rosemary Freed of Jesup and
one aunt, Fern Welch of San Jose,
Calif. as well as other relatives and friends.

Minerva was a member of the First Reformed Church and the Eagles Club in Knoxville.
Rev. Ronald VanHeukelom officiated at the services.

Music was provided by organist Bertha Mathes and vocalist Gene Knoot.
Pallbearers were Mark Pickering, Terry Thompson, Kenneth Van Donselaar, Larry Vroegh, Lester Vroegh and Rick Vroegh.
